Launching MaineToday Digital

Steve Galligan

Friday, September 2, 2011 marked three significant milestones for MaineToday Digital. These significant events enabled us to open for business this week. The three events included launching our new website, the completion of sales and product training for our new digital marketing representatives, and moving into our beautiful new offices at 7 Custom House Street in the Old Port overlooking Portland Harbor. The events of our exciting day are featured in a front page, in depth news story in the Maine SundayTelegram this morning complete with a photo of members of our team enjoying the beautiful day from our deck.

Our web development team, led by Executive Producer Jaica Kinsman, along with members Eric Holsinger and Peter Vachon, did a phenomenal job in less than sixty days to design and build a fun and exciting site that showcases all of the creative products and services that MaineToday Digital offers. Each day brought new and innovative designs and the team deserves great credit for working so hard to meet the deadline of last Friday. We are most fortunate to have such a talented web development group that is so well versed in all that is required for a successful web presence.

Our sales and product training these past two weeks exceeded expectations. Led by our Director of Sales and Marketing, Barry Jackman, our sales team focused on finding solutions to help businesses expand their digital marketing presence in new and exciting ways. The emphasis of the training was to learn the needs of the customer and deliver custom solutions that help businesses grow in these challenging economic times. The second week involved three packed days with internationally recognized trainer Mike Centorani who works extensively with Google and other leading media companies to help deliver the best products and services in the ever-changing world of digital marketing. The Digital Marketing Representatives that attended the two week session all agreed that Mike’s attendance was the high-point of the training and will enable them to better design innovative solutions that are new to the marketplace.

Our move into the 7 Custom House Street location provides us with a beautiful space that will help us to grow our business. We expect to use this new office to have customers in to visit us and see our expansive customer center. We will invite clients to join with us to learn about how we may help them build a digital marketing strategy and attract new customers while also retaining existing business. We welcome any and all visitors; so please don’t be shy in coming by to say hello and see our new digs.

A big thanks to our CEO, Rich Connor, for his guidance and support in launching our new company. Rich deserves great credit for having the vision to enable us to form MaineToday Digital. I also want to thank Rich’s executive team that was 100% supportive of all aspects forming our company. Without the complete support of everyone we never would have made the launch date of Septmember 2. We have a great team at MaineToday Media and our new company would not exist without the support of the largest media company in the state.
